Why is it that the flag has been designed like this and not in another way?
It has been designed like this because the precise and static forms normally used on other flags would not represent the earth that has shades and forms in continuous evolution. It has not been designed with the classical blue circle, because in our solar system there are other planets of the same colour. It was not possible to use a static photograph because our planet is in continuous transformation.
And then what view do you use to achieve a vision suitable for EVERYONE.
A circle with lots of flags around it has not been used because planet earth does not only belong to man but also to animals and plants.
We preferred to design a simple white globe with a green halo to group together all of these concepts to represent the planet Earth. The colour white was used because, other than being neutral, it is recognized as the colour that contains all other colours, while the green halo gives not only the spherical effect but invites us to reflect on the fact that our planet is the only one with the colour green.
The white-light blue halo around the globe simulates the presence of oxygen that surrounds the earth and the energetic aspect present in a living planet. This white sphere that appears suspended gives the idea of its fragility. The white and light blue halos on a blue background serve to represent water in movement. Movement caused by a drop, substituted in this case by the earth to remind us that it is only a drop in the universe.

The white sphere in this context reminds us also that it is immersed in water like it is in space; all around it is water and all around it is space. The reflections in the water indicate the presence of a source of light that arrives from our sun, represented by nine shafts, that demonstrate also the presence of life, nine because in nine we find all other numbers (not to be in contrast with the various philosophies).
This is the result of the union of many elements present on the earth.
The small white circle at the top between the earth and the shafts of the sun could be seen to symbolize our satellite (the moon), but in reality on this flag it is a semi transparent hole that serves to give ulterior neutrality to the flag itself.
In effect, if what can be seen looking through this hole is considered the completion of the flag, then this particular will make the flag ideal for any setting.
We can affirm that on the flag there are the four elements:
Earth (white sphere), water (reflections), air (background), fire (sun, represented by the rays).
The flag can also be seen as the connection between space (infinity) and the terrestrial world:
The transparent circle could represent infinity or other dimensions that by way of the flag come into contact with the terrestrial world. It is important to remember that the flag of the planet Earth does not represent only humanity, but everything that has life and forms this planet.
